6:08 PM - Louie.

I am not writing about music in this post (Don't think I am crazy either, I think this story is cute.). I don't want to because of this class. I will leave that there.

This is the tale of Louie.

Last night after I came back from grilling a pizza with friends on the river I encountered something that scared me. This large black bug crawled under my right foot brushing against my very flat instep. There was this bug, it scared me I thought oh it is going to sting me and kill me or bite me and make my foot swell up like that bee sting I got when I was 11 or 12. I couldn't wear a shoe on the stung foot for a week!

But it looked like a roach, and that scared me too, since I just moved into this apartment close to two months ago. My first instinct was to kill it, but that was cruel, and i decided on something a bit more humane (but not really...). Paranoia aside I got a rice cracker tin, cut holes in the top and forced it in there. I put a little water in and a piece of cereal or two. It wasn't happy, but it had to stay there. I checked on it as the night went on, and I decided to call it Louie, for what reason I know not. Louie found me, and I found Louie!

I woke up this morning walked out to the living room and heard low clacking from the tin. The poor thing was jumping on the sides wanting to get out. I gave it more water and cereal and it was happy it stopped and ate and drank. I had work to do all day and I wasn't going to do it in this hot apartment so I went to the library, leaving louie on my cluttered coffee table. When I came back it was sleeping (i think) in the can. I had to go get my forgotten jar of pasta sauce for dinner at my friends so I brought Louie with me. My friend thought it was interesting. Now, I was going to let it loose, no more suffering for Louie just because I was too busy doing work for this silly, (enter choice word here) class so I walked down behind the bank to a large dense area of bushes. I noticed lots of beetle everywhere eating the bush and thought this was a nice place. Louie could eat the leaves of the bush or the other beetles (hopefully they won't eat it!) and it might be happy! I let it out of it's can and it fell out clutching the cornflake onto a nice big leaf. I could tell it was in disbelief - I am in nature! Free! I said my good byes and walked away wishing him luck.

I thought I should document the tale of Louie. Somehow I think Louie and I have a lot in common, but it is in a happier more comfortable place... And doesn't have a million pages to write tonight...

Arrivederci Louie!
