8:10 PM - Project #1 and #2

I have officially started the project that I have been thinking up over the past year or so. Its well my first real venture into composition, and I start it off with a rather weak introduction but what can I say. This past weekend I wrote a song with the aid of Garage Band v.2 called Question. I based it on loops and such, added a vocal track mixed down with a bunch of reverb and delay. It is a first foray into this territory of dub/electronica but it works.

The foundation of this project of mine is an amalgamation of compositions from many genres but with a set theme. Post-classical, quasi-minimalism, dub ambiance, and possibly but who knows IDM if I am feeling wild.

Of course i base this off all of my influences in my musical life, but at the same time I believe i can find my own voice through it all. We will see.

I am going to be going to Italy in May I plan to base a track or many on recordings I plan to do there. Well now that I think of it this might be a new project all together. I have ideas of just random recordings and some how basing each composition off of a scene, wether it be on guitar or something tweaked in garage band or other software violin piano something like that. I know it sounds like I am doing some weird Reich-ian thing but hey its worth a try.

so now i have #1 and #2 cool.

more for another time over and out...
